For decades, the people of Katapala, Uganda have relied on a contaminated open pond called Echor Kokitwi as their only water source. Women, children, and especially young girls walk long distances each day to collect water that puts their health and future at risk. Waterborne illnesses like typhoid, dysentery, and diarrhea have taken lives, drained families financially, and kept children—especially girls—out of school.

"Although I haven’t been to Uganda myself, I’ve been deeply moved by the stories coming out of Katapala—a village where families go without something many of us take for granted: clean water.
Through Water 4 Kids International, I’ve learned how the lack of access to safe water doesn’t just impact health; it strips people of time, opportunity, and often their dignity. Women and children spend hours each day walking long distances to collect water that may still make them sick. It’s an exhausting daily burden that keeps children out of school, limits economic opportunity, and puts lives at risk.
That’s why I’m raising money to drill a water well in Katapala. Because water is so much more than a basic need—it’s a source of dignity and hope. Clean water empowers communities to care for their families, send their children to school, and pursue a future with choices. It restores time, health, and self-worth. When water is accessible, hope flows with it.
My goal is to be part of that change—not just by raising funds, but by standing in solidarity with people who deserve the same safety, opportunity, and humanity we all hope for. Together, we can help Katapala reclaim its future—one clean drop at a time."
