Cooking for Students Over a Campfire
Currently, the kitchen at Musana Christian School in Kasolo, Uganda is operating under a tin shed and using a rustic 3 rock campfire style cooking surface.
The new kitchen will have energy efficient stoves that reduce on firewood needs and produce an efficient cooking surface keeping the cooks safe from smoke and potential risk of being burned from hot water pots tipping over from an unstable surface.
This kitchen will eventually feed up to 300 students a daily breakfast of porridge and a daily hot lunch of nutritious food. The cost to build a permanent kitchen $15,000.
